Matsudaira completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. As a specialist in contemporary voice, he has premiered more than 150 works by composers including Joji Yuasa, Yoriaki Matsudaira and Akira Nishimura, and given performances at the Suntory Hall Summer Festival, the New National Theatre Tokyo and more. 

To date, Matsudaira has released 3 solo albums, including “MONO=POLI” (awarded the 2010 Agency for Cultural Affairs, National Arts Festival Prize for Excellence) and a further 2 albums with “Teion Duo”; a duo formed with tuba player, Shinya Hashimoto.His book “Stockhausen no subete” (Everything Stockhausen) was published in February 2019.
