Tokyo 2019 (revised premiere)

Makoto Uemura (b. 1990, Aichi prefecture) graduated from Nagoya Zokei University of Art and Design and completed his postgraduate studies in Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts.

After working for a stage lighting company, Uemura became an education research assistant at Tokyo University of the Arts Performing Arts Center.

Uemura is currently researching the relationship between audiences and artworks, and often designs lighting for staged productions of theatrical works and art projects in traditional-style houses to public spaces.
